Wage Hike Advantages & Disadvantages

The Wage Hike : A Very Very Short Story

Big-Oh Small-Oh Company : Oh no! Another wage hike?!
Mr. Employee : Whew! at Last! More food for my Family's table.
Big-Oh Small-Oh Company : Mr. Finance! Can we still afford it?
Mr. Finance : Yes Sir, we still can
Mr. Employee : Huney! Look! My first ever taste of the wage hike!

After 5 years....

Big-Oh Small-Oh Company : Mr. Finance, I think we are spending too much on our
manpower resources. Prices are getting higher and we just
can't afford any more expenses.
Major Decision : Cut down of manpower resource = laying off.
Mr. Employee : Huney...im home..annddd....here are my last claims... Im sorry..

REALIZATION :
Okay, so I was watching the news a few minutes ago. I was shocked with was is currently (STILL) happening. More SCHOOLS with three (3) shifts of classes a day. Goodness. Is this for real? At first, I was unsure If I should blame the current administration, our weak efforts in controlling the population growth, or simply all Filipinos?

The newscaster explained that Ondoy was the reason why this is still happening. The typhoon Ondoy damaged a lot of public schools which resulted for affected students to transfer to other public schools, and making these school uber-over-kadooper-populated. Given the reason stated above, I don't think I should blame the goverment, neither mother nature. Instead, I blame everyone. We have become so weak in helping one another control the population growth here in the Philippines. We do not have the initiative in educating ourselves about the causes of overpopulation, the increasing amount of uneducated kids, and all the things linked to these issues.

And this is why I remembered that we also have other problems that may have been related to what is happening....

I'm neither an economist nor a professional analyst, Im simply a "Pinoy" who is very much concerned with this country. The country where I was born, raised, and educated. So please correct me if I am wrong with my conclusions, since these are merely my personal opinions.

Most uneducated families do not realize the importance of birth control (may it be natural or not). That's why each family's home (in most poor areas) are overpopulated already. Example : Two Parents - and a minimum of 5 children. Mostly uneducated. Mostly, cannot afford to send their children to school. Maraming mahirap. FACT YAN.

I have nothing against the wage hike. Its good for the labor force. But it may also be bad for them. That is why I am very concerned for might happen. Some companies may afford it.
But some, for sure, cannot. For companies who cannot afford to pay ther people more and more and more, may decide the decrease their workforce. This will result to more unemployment. This will result to more "kahirapan". =(

THE wage board should understand the current economic situation before making a decision on the wage hike petitions filed by a party-list group and a labor coalition, an official from a business chamber said.

“There are actually two concerns of the companies: one is growth for the business, and the other is the survival in the industry. With these two concerns, majority of the companies are more concerned about their survival,” Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) committee chairman on labor Edgar Godinez told Sun.Star Cebu

I wonder, ano na kaya ang mangyayari sa Pilipinas after 6 more years?
We just have to wait and see.
